Something not working, or a font it couldn't crack? Email fontasizeapp@gmail.com.
It's read by the person who built the app, and you'll usually get a reply within a day or two. If you're writing about a font it got wrong, include the URL you searched — that's the single most useful thing you can send, because it lets the exact case be reproduced.
How it works
- Paste a URL into the search field — any page with type on it.
- Tap search. Fontasize loads the page and reads what it actually renders, rather than guessing from a picture.
- Read the results — the text found, the font, its size and weight, and the foundry that made it, with a link out to them.
Past searches are kept in the Log tab, and recent URLs appear as suggestions when you tap the search field.

Why does it say "Unknown" for the foundry?
Because the font is almost certainly custom. Big brands commission typefaces that are never sold anywhere — no catalogue lists them, so there's no record to find. Fontasize will still name the font correctly; it just can't point you at somewhere to license something that isn't for sale. Where possible it links to the closest thing available online.
What do "High Match" and "Low Confidence" mean?
High Match means the foundry was identified from a known catalogue or from the foundry's own site. Low Confidence means it's the best available answer but worth double-checking before you rely on it — for example, when only one source supports it.
Can I search a screenshot, or a photo of a poster?
No — and that limitation is the whole point. Fontasize reads live web pages, which is exactly why it returns the real font rather than a lookalike. Image matching is the guessing game it was built to avoid. If you can find the type on a web page, paste that URL instead.
It found the font but not the foundry.
Those are two separate lookups. Identifying the font is read straight from the page and is reliable. Identifying who made it means matching that name against catalogues and foundry directories, which is where custom and very new typefaces fall through.
It didn't work on a particular site.
A few kinds of page can't be read:
- sites that block being loaded inside other apps
- pages behind a login or paywall
- headings set as images rather than live text
- pages where the type only loads after interaction
Where is my search history kept?
On your device, and nowhere else. It's never uploaded. Logs clear themselves after 90 days, you can remove individual suggestions from the search field, and deleting the app removes everything.
Can I share a result?
Yes — tap or press and hold a result, or a card in the Log, to open the share sheet with a plain-text summary.

Worth being upfront about:
- Custom brand typefaces often can't be traced to a foundry, because they were never sold.
- Foundry identification is best-effort. The font name is the reliable part.
- A page must render real text to be read.
- There's no offline mode — identifying a font means loading the page.
